We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early years team. The ideal candidate will hold a
Level 3 Early Years qualification (full and relevant)
; however, applicants with a
Level 2 qualification and strong, recent nursery experience
will also be considered. The role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework, delivering engaging age-appropriate activities, and providing high-quality personalised care. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong safeguarding knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team, with the confidence to contribute positively to daily room routines and support leadership within a vibrant childcare setting.
Duties
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure safety and wellbeing
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities in compliance with regulatory standards
Organise and lead group activities that encourage learning and social interaction
Support the implementation of nursery policies and procedures to ensure a high standard of care
Assist in the organisation of outings or trips, including driving children when necessary
Contribute to a team environment by sharing best practices and supporting colleagues in their roles
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of child development principles and childcare regulations
Childcare or early childhood education qualification (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Childcare) or equivalent recognised certification
Ability to organise activities effectively whilst maintaining a safe environment
Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or running nursery errands
Passionate about early childhood education with a caring and nurturing attitude
