We are looking for a caring, reliable and nurturing Early Years Support Worker to join our small, relationship?focused team. This role is ideal for someone who values attachment?led practice, understands the importance of emotional security in early childhood, and enjoys supporting children to feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
You will work closely with our practitioners to create a warm, responsive environment where every child feels seen, heard and supported. The role involves helping children regulate, engage in play, build independence and navigate their day with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
Build warm, trusting relationships with children, supporting their emotional wellbeing and sense of belonging.
Work alongside the team to provide high?quality, child?centred play experiences that promote learning, confidence and resilience.
Support children who may need additional reassurance, regulation or guidance throughout the day.
Assist with daily routines including snack, outdoor play, transitions and personal care.
Contribute to maintaining a calm, nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe to explore and express themselves.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to uphold an inclusive, attachment?informed environment.
Communicate sensitively and professionally with children, families and staff.
Follow nursery policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.
What We're Looking For
A minimum of three years' experience working in an early years setting.
Experience supporting children with additional support needs (ASN) in a respectful, inclusive and child?centred way.
Experience supporting children who are developing English as an Additional Language (EAL), with sensitivity to communication needs and cultural diversity.
A recognised early years qualification at SCQF Level 7, such as HNC Childhood Practice, or an equivalent qualification accepted by the SSSC.
A warm, patient and nurturing approach, with a genuine commitment to attachment?led practice.
Ability to work collaboratively within a small team and contribute positively to a calm, supportive environment.
Reliability, flexibility and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of nursery life.
