R44 Performance is a fast-growing, enthusiast-led automotive parts retailer specialising in performance and styling upgrades for European vehicles. With a global customer base and over 150 brands in our portfolio, we're on a mission to build the most streamlined, customer-centric e-commerce platform in the automotive aftermarket industry.
We operate with a hands-on team, bringing in products from around the world, managing complex supplier relationships, running international campaigns, and hosting car culture events. Our tech stack powers everything from local warehouse operations to international order routing and marketplace selling and now, we're ready to level up.
We're looking for a sharp and proactive
E-commerce Systems Developer
to help us scale smarter, faster, and more efficiently by reducing manual workflows and building a more connected software ecosystem.
Role Overview:
As our E-commerce Systems Developer, you'll work closely with our Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing teams to improve and interconnect the systems that drive our multi-channel e-commerce business. You'll take ownership of our Shopify stores, lead integrations with our ERP (OrderWise), and build automation that eliminates inefficiencies and human error.
Your work will directly improve how we manage our 10,000+ product catalogue, handle regional pricing and taxes, and deliver a frictionless buying experience across Shopify, Amazon, eBay, and more. You'll be the bridge between raw data, system intelligence, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain multiple Shopify stores, themes, and custom apps, ensuring seamless integration with third-party services and an optimised user experience.
Oversee the company's e-commerce software stack, identifying inefficiencies and implementing new tools, scripts, and APIs to reduce manual tasks across purchasing, fulfilment, and customer service.
Build and maintain automation tools and custom integrations between Shopify, OrderWise, and external platforms (eBay, Amazon, Loox, etc.).
Streamline purchasing operations through smarter data handling for container tracking, lead time forecasting, supplier feeds, and dynamic pricing models.
Enhance Shopify's functionality with custom solutions such as B2B storefronts, real-time stock syncing, US tax/shipping logic, and pre-order messaging.
Support international growth by developing region-specific logic for pricing, taxes, currency, and logistics.
Collaborate on internal dashboards, workflow tools, and performance reporting to support smarter business decisions.
Maintain clear documentation for all systems, integrations, and internal tools to ensure scalability and continuity.
What We're Looking For:
Must-haves:
Solid experience working with Shopify, including Liquid, APIs, metafields, and webhooks.
Proficient in scripting (e.g., Python, JavaScript/Node.js, PHP) with a focus on automation and data handling.
Experience integrating with ERP/WMS systems -- ideally OrderWise.
Strong grasp of e-commerce logistics and data operations: inventory syncing, product structure, pricing logic, tax rules, international shipping, etc.
Familiarity with SQL and a methodical approach to building efficient workflows.
Self-driven with excellent prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-paced environment with minimal bureaucracy.
Nice-to-haves:
Interest in cars or experience in the automotive aftermarket space.
Familiarity with integration tools like Make.com, Zapier, or Celigo.
Experience with data visualisation or reporting tools (Power BI, Google Data Studio, etc.).
Experience managing marketplace integrations and automations for Amazon, eBay, or similar platforms.
