Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project costs and ensuring that all financial aspects are accurately calculated. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methods and the ability to analyse various factors that influence project pricing. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents. Determine the amount, type and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each electrical project. Determine the amount of labour required to complete each project. Collaborate with project managers/estimators to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Monitor project budgets and assist in implementing cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle. Submit competitive project bids in accordance with established guidelines. Regularly update cost databases to accurately reflect fluctuating material and labour costs.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred. At least 2 years experience in an electrical contracting background. Familiarity in using estimation software. Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
