Job Description

Electrical Estimator Main Purpose:

To analyze costs and prepare estimates on electrical projects in an efficient and effective manner.

Electrical Estimator Job Duties:

Working as part of an estimating team to deliver competitive Tenders within time scales.

Tender Analysis and sub-contractor enquiries

Analysis of Drawings and Specifications

Highlight any potential opportunities or risks to the business

Producing accurate take-offs from drawings and schedules

Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors for quotations

Site Visits and Surveys

Liaise with clients and main contractors during tender and post tender stage.

Produce estimate breakdowns and specific schedules

Tender checks and filing tenders

Reviewing tenders for valued engineering when required

Management of files and relating documents

Publicly promote the company and all its services

Experience Required

: Previous Electrical Estimating experience within a similar environment - Minimum of 3 years experience

Specialist Knowledge and Skills:

Commercial Awareness Bribery and Corruption Awareness Basic IT skills. Windows (Word, Excel etc) Up to date Specific Product Knowledge

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:

High Standard of Oral and written Communication Ability to present complex information (orally or in writing) in a way that is easily understood Evidence of developing and maintaining effective external relationships To build and maintain relationships and to communicate effectively with customers Communicate with management in quarterly review meetings To build and maintain relationships and to communicate effectively with customers
