Marcegaglia Stainless Sheffield is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Operations Engineer to lead our Electrical Engineering team at our rolling mill, ASR.

This is a days based role with an expectation to work 1 in 2 Saturdays.

Responsibilities

The main tasks and responsibilities include:

To have overall responsibility of electrical equipment, maintenance strategies and personnel To manage the Electrical engineering function, directing the activities of all personnel (Shift Technicians, Day Engineer and Apprentices) To manage, appraise, motivate, select, and develop staff within the area of control To set team targets and objectives, developing and changing engineering practices To implement and control engineering safe working practices, including lock out, tag out, test out, to prevent accidents, plant failure and loss of production Ensure all engineering plant failures are fully investigated and actions implemented to ensure future prevention To ensure that electrical engineering activities comply with internal and external Health, Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements to ensure company policies and obligations are met To consult and co-ordinate with other functions such as Operations and HSE Be prepared to make decisions and lead from the front. Assist the Electrical Technicians where required on breakdowns, installation, and maintenance. During and outside working hours. Carry out procurement of Stores and essential items using SAP Purchasing System. Take responsibility for & lead the electrical side of any potential future CapEx projects Ensure that the shift electrical technicians carry out all electrical works to a high standard of quality & respond to all breakdowns/production problems in a quick manner Weekend and/or out of normal working hours support may be required from time to time. Duty engineering cover of Saturday Mornings (one in two) required

Person specification

We are looking for passionate individuals that can demonstrate the following attributes:

Driven to work in a demanding and challenging environment Educated to an HND level or have proven electrical experience in a heavy engineering environment Be able to demonstrate an awareness of heavy engineering An excellent, motivated leader and communicator Able to demonstrate problem-solving abilities and prioritise work schedule Possess a reasonable understanding of PLC software & ability to undertake at least some programming work Possess a good understanding of PC Software (SAP desirable) Be capable of interpreting, amending, and creating electrical schematics. Able to demonstrate sound knowledge of the health and safety and environmental policies and legislation.
