To oversee and coordinate the activities of the electrical maintenance team in an industrial environment. This role is critical for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of electrical systems and equipment. Responsible for supervising daily tasks, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and electrical codes.

What you'll be doing



Supervise and lead a team of electricians and apprentices in daily electrical maintenance tasks. Provide training and mentorship to staff, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Plan, execute, and oversee electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Collaborate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimise downtime. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and control panels. Ensure proper glanding, terminating, and wiring practices are followed. Conduct inspections and assessments of electrical installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Review and approve work completed by electricians, ensuring quality and accuracy. Enforce safety protocols and ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes. Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety audits. Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and maintenance activities for management. Work closely with maintenance managers, engineers, and other supervisors to coordinate electrical maintenance activities. Participate in cross-departmental meetings to ensure alignment on projects and initiatives.


Who we're looking for



The following qualities/experience are essential:


Relevant ECS Grade Card Hold time served status with an official apprenticeship. Ability to obtain BPSS clearance SMSTS/SSSTS IOSH
