. The QS will act as the primary point of contact for compliance, certification, and audit purposes and will play a key role in maintaining high electrical safety and installation standards across all projects and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that all electrical work carried out by the company complies with the latest edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
Act as the nominated
Qualified Supervisor
for NICEIC/NAPIT accreditation purposes.
Carry out regular inspection and testing of electrical installations, including initial verification and periodic testing.
Review and sign off electrical certificates (EICs, MEIWCs, and EICRs).
Carry out
quality assurance checks
on electrical work carried out by the team or subcontractors.
Prepare and maintain up-to-date records of all completed electrical works and compliance documentation.
Liaise with external assessors during annual audits or assessments by the relevant Competent Person Scheme (e.g. NICEIC/NAPIT).
Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to electricians and apprentices.
Support in the planning, resourcing, and coordination of electrical projects and maintenance activities.
Keep up to date with changes in regulations, legislation, and industry best practices.
Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard of workmanship.
Qualifications and Certifications:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations - including Amendment 2).
City & Guilds 2391-52 (or 2391-01 / 2394 & 2395) - Inspection & Testing (essential).
Hold or be eligible to hold the position of
NICEIC/NAPIT Qualified Supervisor
.
Valid ECS Gold Card (Approved Electrician).
Full UK driving licence.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the electrical trade, with strong knowledge of domestic, commercial and industrial installations.
Proven track record of managing and signing off electrical certification and compliance.
Experience in mentoring or supervising a team of electricians.
Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation and RAMS procedures.
Experience working with electrical compliance software (preferred but not essential).
Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of current electrical legislation, standards, and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
Organised and proactive, with excellent time management skills.
Confident in liaising with clients, inspectors, and regulatory bodies
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 18.00-23.00 per hour
