Hours: 40 hours per week (participation in on-call and7-day cover rota required)

Are you a skilledElectrician with a passion for keeping critical healthcare environments runningsafely and efficiently? Join our Estates team at Queen's Hospital Romford,where you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving essential electricalsystems that support patient care.
What you'll do

  • Safely operate and maintain a wide range of electrical plant and equipment across the hospital.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), statutory inspections, and reactive repairs in line with Sodexo and NHS Trust standards.
  • Diagnose and repair complex faults across electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, nurse call, HVAC, access control, and standby generator systems.
  • Provide technical advice, liaise with contractors and suppliers, and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and IET regulations.
  • Use Sodexo's CAFM system to manage work orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to the on-call rota, providing emergency support 24/7 as part of a dedicated engineering team.
What we're looking for
  • Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship or structured training programme.
  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance environment (hospital or healthcare experience desirable).
  • Sound understanding of electrical systems, statutory compliance, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake specialist training (e.g. Authorised Person - LV).
