Working Pattern:

Hybrid, with approximately 2 days per week in the London office

Salary

: Circa 55,000 Per Annum - depending on experience

The role

: As our Employee Relations Manager, you will champion and support a positive workplace culture through the effective proactive and reactive management of employee relations activity at DCA. Reporting to the People Director, you will provide commercially focused, legally compliant, and values-led advice, coaching, and guidance to leaders across the business on a broad range of employee relations matters.


You will manage ER casework, working proactively to identify trends, address root causes, and support the development of leadership capability to manage people issues confidently. You will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of policies, processes, and tools to promote consistency and fairness across DCA.


You will also work and manage projects along with the other People Team Leads in relation to cross collaborative working initiatives that will improve, enhance or change the performance of DCA.


Key objectives and metrics:

Timely and effective ER case management Long term reduction in ER cases through education of line managers Positive culture change (measured through engagement survey results)

Key accountabilities/ responsibilities:

Develop and implement an Employee Relations strategy Oversee and undertake casework including attending hearings to demonstrate a responsive action to workforce issues for 2024/ 25 including sickness absence short term, long term and complex mental health and wellbeing Make recommendations to managers and identify risks and opportunities to enhance early resolution Lead on all ER casework through Coaching, guiding and supporting leaders across the business including but not limited too: Disciplinary, Grievance, Sickness Absence, Performance Improvement & Talent Management. Proven experience of providing commercially balanced advice that is supporting of driving the business outcomes and enhancing the DCA culture Identifying trends with Employee Relations issues and make recommendations to tackle the root cause Lead on people related processes such as Family friendly leave and Flexible Working Requests inclusive of any associated administration. Lead on the colleague change and leavers process including any related administration and system updates. Identify and drive continuous improvement through people process development and automation Supporting with the maintenance of template documents to help leaders across the business self-serve on People related matters Act as a point of contact for HR related queries received from colleagues and leaders across the business Support with the development of a colleague self-serve model through the development of FAQ and 'How to guides' to complement DCA's policies

Requirements



CIPD qualified or working towards (Level 7 or equivalent professional experience) Proven experience managing complex, high-volume ER casework Broad knowledge of HR employee life cycle activities Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including unions and legal teams Strong coaching, conflict resolution, and training delivery skills Unflappable, firm but fair approach with excellent interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills for interpreting ER data and trends Confident managing policy development and legal compliance Ability to build strong, trusting working relationships with peers and stakeholders Able to coach and influence others to reach a desired outcome, comfortable to positively challenge others Able to work on several projects at the same time and prioritise effectively Strong understanding of employment law
