Employee Relations Specialist

12 month fixed term contract

We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to join our divisional HR team here at Tyman. As Employee Relations Specialist you will be responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of policies and procedures, and promoting a positive work environment. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, a comprehensive understanding of employment laws, and the ability to manage sensitive situations.

What you\'ll be doing

  • Provide advice and guidance on employee relations issues, including disciplinary procedures, grievance cases, performance management, and absence management.
  • Contribute to the continued development of HR policies and ways of working that foster a positive culture in line with our values.
  • Supporting the Snr HR Business Partner and wider HR team in the delivery of projects as part of our People Strategy and associated plan.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and using HR data and metrics to monitor and report on trends which will inform strategic HR planning.
  • Provide training and support to line managers on employee relations matters.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for managers and employees regarding HR-related queries and concerns.
  • Maintain and update HR records and databases, ensuring their accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job ads, conducting telephone interviews, and reviewing job applications.
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars, and participate in career events.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, leaves, overtime).
What we\'re looking for
  • Proven experience in an Employee Relations role or similar HR role.
  • A strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and a professional approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent situations as they arise.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
