About SNAP



SNAP is a multiple award winning local charity that has been supporting families who have a child aged 0 to 25 with any additional needs or disability for over 30 years. We are currently supporting over 5000 families in Essex, Thurrock and Southend and do so in a variety of ways, both in person at our specialist centre in Brentwood and remotely via telephone and email.

At the heart of our work, we aim to help and empower the whole family, enabling them to meet the challenges they face. As a result, we have developed a variety of services in response to the needs of local families.

The Events & Community Fundraiser role



Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, this role will be responsible for maximising income from SNAP events and community fundraising. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging fundraising events, providing an exceptional level of supporter care and developing local relationships

SNAP Events



Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of events, both SNAP and third party

Lead the planning and delivery of each event, researching feasibility, sourcing venues, managing suppliers, and overseeing budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and good ROI

Create, manage and monitor bookings, payments, and communications to event attendees

Manage and coordinate volunteer support as needed

Work with Head of Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to secure corporate sponsorship where necessary

Evaluate event success using data-driven insights to continuously improve

Lead and be the main point of contact for SNAP Events Committee, supporting committee members and bringing new ideas to enhance engagement, reach new audiences and generate income

Community Fundraising & Volunteers



Responsible for developing community giving, ensuring positive supporter experiences for all community initiatives

Manage local high street fundraising initiatives, local campaigns and BID initiatives, providing consistent visibility of SNAP

Recruit, manage and develop the fundraising and community volunteers, providing appropriate training, resources, and support

Lead the planning and delivery of community events, such as SNAP's annual open day - Coffee, Cake and Catch-up and Christmas stalls

Financial Duties



To support processing incoming money and prepare payment information, financial reports and updating donation tracking

To support administration of systems to track donations and commitments, ensuring people have been thanked, drafting/sending correspondence for the Management Team

To keep appropriate records of contact with supporters and families on SNAP's database in line with GDPR regulations

Other duties



Identify and engage new leads through campaigns, networking and social media

Work with the Head of Fundraising to strategically cross-sell our offerings as one cohesive fundraising team - i.e. developing processes for community groups to take part in challenge events

Represent and promote SNAP at meetings, forums and events including selected networking, (evenings and weekend events are expected)

To attend training courses as required

Other administrative and general SNAP duties as require

Any other duties to support members of the SNAP team as requested by the Management Team
