As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in leading our kitchen team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences. You will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. This position is not seasonal and will involve split shifts so someone local that can drive would be an advantage.
Duties
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Develop and implement menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and hospitality standards.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction.
Monitor inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to maintain stock without excess waste.
Innovate new dishes while maintaining consistency in flavour and presentation across the menu.
Skills
Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong background in food production with a focus on quality control.
Exceptional team management skills to inspire and lead a diverse kitchen team.
Proficient in food preparation techniques with extensive cooking experience.
Solid understanding of culinary arts, including various cuisines and cooking methods.
Knowledge of hospitality principles to enhance guest experiences through culinary excellence.
Demonstrated leadership abilities to motivate staff and drive performance improvements.
Familiarity with food safety regulations to ensure compliance within the kitchen setting.
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable for understanding operational dynamics.
