Korten is a long-established and successful event and exhibition design and build contractor based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

Our continued growth has created a fantastic opportunity for a Workshop Assistant to join our team based in St Ives, Cambs. Working alongside the Workshop Manager, the role involves managing and co-ordinating key aspects of our workshop operations. You will:

Manage storage of all stock and reusable stand components, checking components for damage when they are returned from exhibition sites; Take lead responsibility for all aspects of health and safety including maintaining H&S records, maintaining PPE records and staff training; Take lead responsibility for ordering of workshop materials including regular price checking versus alternative suppliers; Manage routine and ad-hoc maintenance of workshop equipment, including staff training on workshop equipment as and when required; Lead, alongside the responsible Board Member, our ongoing sustainability policy and plan; Be trained to operate our CNC machine.
Full training, and mentoring will be provided.

Good level of general IT competence Reliable Able to work independently and as part of a team Friendly and clear communicator Flexible, enthusiastic and proactive Good time management Clean, full UK driving licence

Experience and Qualifications

Education to GCSE level or equivalent with passes in at least English and Maths are essential. Although not essential, a qualification in health and safety management would be beneficial.
