We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our team, responsible for providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and possess the necessary skills to support their development through play, games, sports and arts and crafts. This role requires effective communication and leadership abilities to foster positive relationships with both children and their families.
Duties
Supervise and engage with children in various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development.
Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all children, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and provide updates on children's progress.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of play areas, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive atmosphere that supports children's learning and development.
Assist in the management of behaviour by implementing appropriate strategies to encourage positive interactions among children.
Requirements
Proven experience working with children is essential.
A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
Strong management and leadership skills to guide activities and support team dynamics.
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children and parents.
A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transport if required for off-site activities.
