Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper minimum three years' experience, with ideally prior experience working in a UK accountancy firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients and supporting the wider accounting team in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio client Process sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and journals Prepare and submit VAT returns (including standard, flat rate, and MTD-compliant returns) Manage payroll processing and CIS (if possible, however not compulsory) Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts Assist with year-end accounts preparation and liaise with accountants as required Use cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC requirements Respond to client queries in a professional and timely manner

Required Skills & Experience



Proven experience as a Bookkeeper within a UK accountancy practice Strong knowledge of UK VAT rules and HMRC regulations Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks preferred) Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational and communication skills

Desirable Qualifications



AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience) Experience with Making Tax Digital (MTD)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
