About the Role


We are looking for a motivated and reliable Laser Operator to join our Worcester-based fabrication and welding company. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with proven experience in laser cutting who enjoys working as part of a team and is looking for a role with tailored training and clear paths for progression.

Key Responsibilities



Machine Operation

: Set up, operate, and maintain our 12kw Flatbed Laser, adjusting parameters to ensure high-quality precision cuts.

Nesting & Software

: Assist with nesting using Lantek software (experience is preferred, though training can be provided).

Material Management

: Prepare, load, and unload materials onto the machine bed.

Quality Assurance

: Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, making necessary adjustments to ensure they meet engineering standards.

Maintenance

: Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, calibration, and replacing parts as required.

Technical Interpretation

: Read and interpret technical engineering drawings accurately.

Reporting

: Maintain accurate production records, including job specifications and material traceability.

Communication

: Work collaboratively with the team to ensure a smooth manufacturing process and share progress updates.

Candidate Requirements



Experience

: Proven experience operating a flatbed laser machine with a shuttle table.

Technical Skills

: Ability to work from engineering drawings and a strong attention to detail.

IT Literacy

: Essential computer confidence; proficiency in basic Excel and general IT knowledge is required.

Additional Skills

: Knowledge of Press Brake setup and operation is a major advantage (or a willingness to learn). Experience operating a forklift (counterbalance) is essential and a valid license would be preferred.
It is essential that you have a proactive approach to work, are a strong team player, and have an ambition to develop your technical skill set.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Minimum 37.5 hours per week). Competitive Pay: 15 - 17 per hour plus available overtime. Pension: Company Pension Scheme. Facilities: Free on-site parking. Development: Ongoing training and a supportive, inclusive working environment.
