Overview

We are seeking a confident and experienced cook to be part of a team in a busy but homely care home setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for person centred dietary needs with knowledge and experience of running all aspects of a busy kitchen and and the ability to inspire and mentor other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

- Oversee and take part in all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation

- Develop and create new menu items in line with seasonal offerings and resident preferences

- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene

- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dishes consistently

- Manage inventory levels and control food costs effectively

- Collaborate with head of care and management to plan and execute special events or themed nights

Qualifications

- Previous experience working as a cook, chef or in a similar leadership role within the care, health or hospitality industry

- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards as well as knowledge of the IDDSI guidelines and specialist diets.

- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards success

- A creative flair for menu development and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes suitable for complex needs individuals

- Proven track record of managing kitchen operations efficiently while maintaining quality standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per month
