Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic

Sri Lankan Chef

with a strong foundation in South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in our kitchen team, contributing to the preparation and presentation of authentic dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of these regions. As a Chef, you will be responsible for managing your section efficiently, ensuring high standards of quality, and working collaboratively to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Duties

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Sri Lankan Chef Prepare and cook dishes in line with the authentic flavors and techniques of South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, ensuring consistency and excellence. Manage a designated section of the kitchen, maintaining organization, cleanliness, and readiness during service. Assist in the creation and refinement of menus by contributing ideas that showcase traditional and contemporary interpretations of South Indian and Sri Lankan dishes. Should be proficient in preparing a wide variety of Sri Lankan dishes, with particular expertise in: full range of traditional

Sri Lankan breads

(e.g., roti, hoppers, paratha) and a variety of

Sri Lankan curries

(meat, seafood, and vegetarian) and traditional

Sri Lankan desserts

(e.g., wattalappam, kavum, kokis, kiri toffee) Monitor portion sizes, ingredient quality, and presentation standards to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations, particularly during high-volume service periods. Uphold food safety and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. Support junior kitchen staff through training, mentorship, and clear communication to foster skill development and teamwork. Maintain stock levels in your section, reporting any shortages and assisting in inventory management.
Experience

Minimum 3-5 years experience required. Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, including knowledge of spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques unique to these regions. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage a section independently in a high-pressure environment. Demonstrated creativity and passion for food, with the ability to contribute innovative ideas for menu development. Solid understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards. Effective teamwork and communication skills, with a collaborative and positive approach to working in a fast-paced kitchen. A commitment to delivering exceptional quality and attention to detail in every dish.
