Job Description

This inclusive and caring School in Carlisle is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This role can either be part time or full time and is ideal for someone with a nurturing, patient nature and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

The Role

Supporting the teacher throughout the school day, using play-based, sensory approach to engage children in learning Use or willing to use communication strategies Working closely with the class teacher and other TA's Deliver 1:1 or small group interventions Support pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs where required Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment Support with personal care routines

Ideal Candidate

Experience working with young children in a school or nursery setting(school, tutoring, childcare or similar) A warm, patient and adaptable approach Ability to engage pupils through play, routine and structured learning Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff Flexibility, reliability and a genuine passion for helping children learn

Qualifications & skills

A recognised childcare/ care qualification or equivalent. A current DBS that is registered with the update service (if you don't have an up to date DBS we can assist in applying for one) Knowledge or experience working with SEND Be reliable, punctual, trustworthy

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm

Term-time only

Open to both full-time and part-time applicants

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
