We have a new position to work in a school in the Penrith area. We are looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant. The position is to start ASAP.
We are looking for someone from an EYFS background to support in a large EYFS department in a school. The role has come about due to an increase in pupils with additional needs such as ADHD and Autism. This busy EYFS unit are looking for a dynamic, creative and outgoing Teaching Assistant.
The role
You will be working as part of a support team assisting the teacher in delivering lessons planned specifically for pupils' needs.
Using play and creativity to engage the pupil
Contribute in creating a safe and nurturing environment
You may be expected to fill in reading and learning journals
Report back to the teacher effectively
Assist at lunch and snack times
Support student in outside play activities whilst allowing space for independence
Work alongside therapists such as speech and language therapists and music therapists to support the students educational and mental wellbeing
The ideal applicant
Will ideally have a childcare qualification or experience of working with young people at EYFS level
Willing to create strong relationships with staff, students and care providers
Passionate about working with young people with SEND
Great team player adding positivity to the staffing team
Flexible and reliable
School hours are 8:45 - 3:30 Monday to Friday.

As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required
