EYFS Teaching Assistant

Helping every child thrive.

We're looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school setting in Whitehaven, helping children with additional needs develop confidence and key skills in a nurturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Supporting children with SEND, both one-to-one and in small groups, to help them engage with learning. Working closely with teachers and outside professionals to adapt activities to meet each child's needs. Encouraging social and emotional development, helping children build confidence and independence. Assisting with daily routines and classroom organisation to create a smooth, welcoming learning environment. Helping supervise and support children during regular off-site trips, ensuring they have positive and enriching experiences beyond the classroom.

What We're Looking For:

A TA qualification or other relevant childcare/education qualification is beneficial. Experience working with SEND individuals (children or adults). A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Location: Whitehaven

Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (part-time applications welcome)

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
