Job Description

A primary school in the Retford area is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support their Early Years provision from September. This is a full-time role based in either Nursery or Reception, providing practical support to help pupils settle into the school environment and access early learning.

About the Role:

You will work closely with the class teacher to assist with day-to-day routines, learning activities, and pastoral care. The focus will be on supporting early language, social interaction, and basic academic development through structured play and guided tasks in line with the EYFS framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the delivery of planned activities and classroom routines Encourage pupil participation through structured and exploratory play Help reinforce early communication, language, and social skills Maintain a safe and organised learning environment Contribute to basic observations and pupil development records

Candidate Requirements:

Experience supporting children in an EYFS or primary school setting A calm and consistent approach to working with young children Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development Ability to work effectively as part of a team A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 in Early Years, Childcare, or Teaching Support) is beneficial
