We are currently seeking a skilled an experienced fabric/sewing technician.
Knowledge of the orthotic industry would be ideal. However, that is not an essential requirement. If you do not possess experience in this industry, but have a fabric/sewing skill set then we would work with you to train and develop your existing skills to align with our needs.
As a Fabric/Sewing Orthotic Technician, you will play a vital role in the fabrication and assembly of orthotic devises, particularly soft/fabric-based orthoses. As an Orthotic Technician, you will be responsible for designing, cutting, sewing, modifying and assembling fabric and foam material to custom specification based on patient needs and clinical prescriptions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Reading and interpreting design specifications and work orders
Cut fabric, foam and other materials to required patterns and measurements
Attach closures such as Velcro, straps, buckles or fasteners to orthotic devises
Modify or repair existing orthotic devices as needed
Collaborating with Orthotists, technicians and other clinical staff to ensure product accuracy and fit
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workspace
Ensuring accuracy and compliance to quality standards.
Skills:
The ideal candidate would possess experience of fabric design & sewing
Ability to read and interpret written instructions to make orthosis
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivery high quality work
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Good time management skills
Working hours are 38 hours Monday - Thursday. Option to choose from four shift patterns (each shift pattern is 9.5 hours per day)
Salary is dependent on experience and skill set.
