We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyperson to join our team. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the engineering leadership team to undertake the responsibility for the general maintenance of the main office, administration and facilities areas both electrically and mechanically around the site.
There will be a requirement to drive light vehicles for the purposes of delivery and pick-up of persons and equipment.
This role will be a part-time role and anticipated to be approximately 3-4 days per week, flexibility with working hours may also be required.
Some of the duties and responsibilities
Work closely with the engineering leadership team to provide a maintenance service for office, administration and facilities areas in accordance with company EH&S guidelines
Carry out basic electrical and mechanical repairs across facilities areas, including but not limited to; fixing light fittings, testing of electrical sockets, carrying out basic safety inspections around the site
Carry out general janitorial duties as and when required including but not limited to; general grounds maintenance, cleaning, gritting car parks in the winter, collecting waste, furniture moves and minor plumbing repairs
Any other activity which could be commensurate with the scope and level of this role.
Job requirements, key skills and attributes
Proven experience in a similar handyperson role or relevant trade.
Practical skills and experience in a variety of repair and maintenance tasks
Qualified electrical installation engineer
There will be a requirement for manual handling, climbing ladders etc in this role
Full UK driving licence
Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of the MS office packages would be an advantage
Understanding and experience of HSE and quality requirements in a maintenance/manufacturing environment
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with the senior management and engineering leadership teams.
