Facilities Manager Job description

As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our Bloomsbury campus on a permanent basis. Working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday with flexibility for emergency callouts when needed.

As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our physical infrastructure and creating a comfortable, efficient, and safe environment for our employees and visitors.

We are looking for somebody who is experienced within the Facilities sector and is keen to learn, develop and progress their career within a Facilities Manager position. You will be joining a well-formed team and report into our Head of Facilities who will provide support and mentorship. The IOSH/NEBOSH and IWFM qualification would be desirable however we offer the opportunity to support you through qualifications.

As a Facilities Manager at The University of Law, you will:

  • Manage a team of facilities staff
  • Manage all mechanical and electrical services, plant and associated installations to ensure compliance with current legislation, ensuring all statutory testing, inspection and record-keeping is maintained up to date.
  • Supervise physical plant operations including utilities, energy management and safety and security systems.
  • Ensure that a compliant, safe, healthy and comfortable environment is provided for staff and students.
  • Scheduling and supervising maintenance and repair activities, including reactive maintenance and contracted services.
  • Manage all cleaning and security provision, through regular checks and audits, ensuring consistently high standards.
  • Providing all facilities services and support to agreed SLAs and KPIs.
We are looking for individuals with:
  • Experience of working within a facilities management environment is essential
  • Experienced in managing PPMs and contractors and accurate statutory compliance.
  • A strong working knowledge & experience of health and safety regulations and a good understanding of soft and hard FM services.
  • Customer focussed
  • Experience of maintaining accurate statutory compliance and building files/asset records
