The Role

The purpose of this role is to support the efficient production of fire door sets by preparing, finishing, and quality-checking doors and frames to meet high manufacturing standards. This position is key to maintaining accuracy, consistency, and productivity within the factory team.

Key Responsibilities (Duties):

Prepare doors and frames for painting, including sanding, filling, and surface cleaning. Apply primers, paints, and finishes to doors and frames in line with production specifications. Interpret and follow daily job lists to ensure workflow efficiency and accuracy. Handle and understand various materials, including different timbers and fillers, to achieve quality finishes. Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications. Work towards daily production KPIs while maintaining safety and quality requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Report defects, equipment issues, or material shortages to the production supervisor promptly.

About you

Minimum of 2 years' experience in painting, decorating, or a related trade. Ability to prepare and finish surfaces to a high standard, including sanding, priming, and applying paint or coatings. Ability to follow technical instructions and production specifications accurately. Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality. Basic understanding of factory health and safety procedures and use of PPE. Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering consistent results. Strong work ethic with the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and processes. Pride in producing high-quality work and maintaining a safe, organised workspace.
