Haris Law Solicitors is a busy, down-to-earth, and Lexcel-accredited law firm located in the heart of Blackburn town centre. We pride ourselves on delivering clear, practical legal advice with a personal touch. As our firm continues to grow, we're expanding our Family Law Department and are looking for a committed and capable solicitor to join our team.
The Role
We are seeking a Family Law Solicitor/Legal Executive with a focus on domestic abuse and private children matters. This is a full-time role involving both privately and publicly funded cases. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload, provide high-quality client care, and handle matters from initial instruction through to conclusion, including advocacy where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Handling a caseload of domestic abuse and private children family matters
Advising clients on funding options and assessing financial eligibility
Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
Representing clients in court and conducting advocacy when required
Delivering compassionate and clear advice to often vulnerable clients
Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and SRA standards
What We're Looking For
Minimum 1 year PQE (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of family law, especially FLA 1996 and Children Act 1989
Excellent communication and client care skills
Comfortable working independently and using initiative
Experience working with sensitive or vulnerable clients
Strong time management and case management skills
