F G Pryor & Son Ltd is a long-established, family-run arable farming business based near Truro, Cornwall. We are involved in growing, storing and marketing high-quality potatoes and cereals, with strong relationships across the farming, food and retail sectors. Our small office team is looking to welcome a reliable and proactive individual to join us in supporting the day-to-day running of our farm office.



We are seeking a friendly, organised and efficient Farm Office Administrator to support the daily administrative tasks of our busy farm office. This role is vital in helping our team stay organised and focused. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable, computer-literate and confident in working both independently and as part of a team. This is a varied role with room to grow and develop, offering a great opportunity to be part of a supportive and successful rural business.

Key Responsibilities



Organising transport and logistics for produce and supplies Updating customer and order information Data entry and report production using Gatekeeper software (training provided) Dealing with customer and supplier enquiries via phone, email and in person Welcoming visitors into the office and handling walk-in enquiries Checking supplier invoices against price lists Monitoring and recording solar energy output data Maintaining training records and arranging bookings as needed Supporting farm assurance work and scheduling services/inspections Stocking and managing office supplies/stationery cupboard Answering incoming phone calls and dealing with telephone enquiries Filing, scanning and other general office administration Supporting directors with ad-hoc administrative tasks Assisting in the review and update of internal systems and processes Undertaking training as required Complying with all company policies and procedures Performing other reasonable duties as needed to suit the business Sending soil samples for analysis and recording results on return Keeping livestock records up to date, including cattle movement and documentation

Requirements



Essential:



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organisational and clerical skills Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (basic), and Outlook Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities Practical and reliable with a "can-do" attitude Confident telephone manner and good customer service skills Ability to work independently and within a team Computer literate and comfortable with office systems Good attention to detail and accuracy Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills Previous experience in an office, admin, customer service or sales role

Desirable



Previous experience in a farming, rural or agricultural setting Experience with Gatekeeper or other farm management software Understanding of farm assurance processes (e.g., Red Tractor)
