is a not-for-profit company established in 2023 to promote independent cinema and cultural exchange in Morecambe Bay. We organise an annual international film festival featuring diverse films from the UK and around the world, alongside Q&A sessions, workshops, and community events. Our primary mission is to provide access to cinema for all members of society, regardless of socio-economic background, through free tickets and community screenings. Operating with charitable and educational purposes at our core, we aim to foster cultural understanding, support local youth through media training programmes, and establish Morecambe as a recognised hub for independent cinema in the North West.
Join The Bay International Film Festival as a Festival Administration & Digital Content Assistant during our exciting pre-festival preparation period. This hands-on internship offers valuable experience in cultural sector operations, combining administrative coordination with creative digital content development. You'll work directly with semi-finalist filmmakers, organise essential festival materials, and create marketing templates that will support our January 2026 festival. This role provides insight into professional film festival operations while developing transferable skills in project management, digital marketing, and cultural programming. Perfect for students interested in arts administration, marketing, or the creative industries.

Interview Date: TBC likely last 2 weeks of August
Working Hours / Pattern: 28 hours in total, 7 hours per week over 4 weeks in September
Location: Entirely remotely in the UK

• Coordinate with semi-finalist filmmakers to ensure completion of screening agreements and collect outstanding documentation.
• Organise and manage digital film materials, creating systematic filing structures for each selected film.
• Source and compile marketing materials including film stills, trailers, and promotional content from filmmaker submissions.
• Create professional digital templates for social media posts and marketing materials that can be easily customised for future use.
• Download and organise film files in preparation for jury evaluation processes.
• Communicate professionally with international filmmakers via email and project management platforms.
• Maintain detailed spreadsheets and databases tracking submission materials and filmmaker communications.
• Support general festival administration tasks as needed during the pre-production phase.

Person Specification
Essential:

• Current student registered on a degree scheme within FASS
• Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written communication skills for professional correspondence
• Basic digital literacy including file management and cloud storage platforms
• Proficiency with social media platforms and understanding of digital marketing concepts
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Interest in film, arts, or cultural events

Desirable:

• Experience with design software (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar)
• Previous experience in event coordination, marketing, or arts administration
• Knowledge of film industry practices or festival operations
• Basic image editing or graphic design skills
• Experience with project management or database systems
