THE ROLE
The Part-Time Finance Assistant (32h) supports the hotel's daily financial operations, including managing accounts receivable, reconciling cash and credit card transactions, maintaining accurate revenue records, and assisting with invoice review and processing.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance Accounts Receivable
Reconcile and process daily financial reports.
Follow hotel credit policies and procedures.
Transfer and verify all daily accounts receivable from the PMS.
Ensure all invoices and charges are accurate with proper backup.
Post and allocate all BACs, and deposits correctly.
Handle credit card payments, and refunds.
Contact clients to collect overdue payments.
Keep detailed records of all collection efforts and credit communications.
Assist in balancing advance deposits with the General Ledger.
Respond promptly and professionally to client payment queries.
Support with monthly closing tasks and financial reporting.
Cash Handling
Verify cashier envelopes and remittances.
Count and deposit all cash daily.
Order and distribute change to cashiers and outlets.
Reimburse cashiers for approved disbursements.
Monitor and maintain petty cash procedures.
Perform cash float counts and record results.
Track and report cashier banking errors, overages, and shortages
.
Accounts Payable Purchasing
Process and manage supplier invoices for payment.
Support purchasing for all hotel departments following SOPs.
Maintain supplier relationships and resolve any payment or delivery issues.
Ensure all general ledger postings are accurate and up to date.
Help with cost control and month-end financial tasks.
Skills Requirements
Basic accounting and bookkeeping knowledge.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and with different departments.
Experience in hospitality or finance preferred
