The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands-on Finance & Office Manager to join a fast-growing third-party logistics (3PL) and warehousing business based in Leicester. This pivotal role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a dynamic SME environment, and is keen to make a real impact across finance, operations support, and office management. Working closely with the leadership team, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day financial function while supporting wider business activities including payroll, people coordination, and site administration. You'll play a key role in ensuring back-office functions run smoothly and efficiently as the business continues to scale. Fixed Term 9 Month Contract.
Key Responsibilities
Finance
Ownership of all bookkeeping and accounting functions using Xero
Monthly management accounts and reporting for leadership
Cash flow management and forecasting
Invoicing and revenue tracking for warehousing and logistics contracts
Oversight of supplier payments and bank reconciliations
VAT returns, including awareness of sector-specific nuances
Process monthly payroll, manage pensions and holiday accruals
Operations & Admin Support
Coordinate staff schedules, timesheets, and shift patterns
Maintain accurate records for site-based teams (drivers, warehouse staff, admin)
Support onboarding of new starters and ensure they are operationally equipped
Liaise with line managers on team availability, rota gaps and training needs
Manage supplier contracts, utilities, insurances, and general office services
Oversee facilities and equipment maintenance in line with H&S requirements
Act as a key point of contact for site coordination and operational admin
What We're Looking For
A well-rounded finance professional with experience in a broad, hands-on role within an SME
Strong understanding of Xero and Excel.
Experience in logistics, warehousing or a similar operational environment is highly desirable
Organised and proactive, with the ability to keep things running behind the scenes
Comfortable supporting operational teams and communicating with stakeholders at all levels
Self-sufficient and adaptable, with a continuous improvement mindset
