About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join our team in London on a permanent basis, working 2 days a week in the office and from home for 3 days. The role sits within the Financial Accounting & Reporting team.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts for group entities, in compliance with relevant accounting and reporting standards, and playing a key role in the year-end audit process.
  • Performing reviews of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany accounts.
  • Maintaining and improving the Assets and Liabilities Register, a statutory requirement of the Regulator of Social Housing.
  • Ensuring the existence of a sound control environment and supporting the delivery of continuous improvement projects in financial accounting and reporting.

You will be joining a committed finance team with an ambitious operating plan, and will be expected to demonstrate initiative, judgement and a continuous improvement mentality. Being systems-oriented will also be beneficial.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be able to demonstrate:
  • Recent experience of statutory financial reporting and audit either in a practice or industry role.
  • Proven experience of leading on financial accounting for complex balance sheet areas.
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Proven experience of leading on the preparation of financial statements for audit and the application of accounting standards.
  • Experience of reviewing and analysing financial information and reporting on results.
  • Experience in preparing VAT returns (desirable).
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
Essential Qualifications:
  • CCAB or CIMA qualification.
