Job Description



Role Profile:

The purpose of this role is to support the full range of the activities of FNZ UK Ltd\xe2\x80\x99s finance function, from playing a part in monthly and annual reporting to taking ownership of a variety of day-to-day processes. This role will report to the UK Financial Controller and requires attention to detail, combined with good communication skills to ensure a high and consistent reporting standard is maintained. The successful candidate will ideally possess a working technical knowledge of accounting standards and will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging working environment.

Financial processing and reporting:


  • Monthly SLT/Board reporting including variance analysis and KPI reporting, quarterly FCA reporting and preparing annual statutory accounts (prepared under IFRS)

  • Assisting with monthly payroll and pension calculations as well as with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns for the FNZ Group

  • Preparing and reviewing journals to be posted to the ledger

  • Regular review of actual performance against budget and forecast on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

  • Making a contribution to the internal risk and control environment


Business partnering:

  • Act as a liaison when required between the Finance team and other parts of the business, including Client Directors

  • Provide insightful analytical review and reporting to challenge business performance and forecasting

  • Ensuring actions are taken to optimise business performance


AR and Credit Control:

  • Communicating with relevant stakeholders within the organisation to ensure complete information provided (e.g. approval/PO/credit notes).

  • Taking responsibility for the client invoicing process, including ensuring that fees are accurately calculated

  • Regular review of client balances to identify overdue amounts

  • Monthly review of all aged debtors including recording of client communication and payment updates


Experience Required:
Requirement:

  • Full professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW or other)

  • Intermediate to advanced level on Microsoft Excel

  • Five years financial experience

  • Very good interpersonal skills. This role will involve liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.

  • Confident and self-sufficient individual able to manage their own workload effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment and as part of a high-performance team.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Taking minutes and meeting notes will be required.

  • Personal commitment to high quality work

  • Able to demonstrate good attention to detail


Preferred but not essential.

  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts and/or management accounts

  • Working technical knowledge of IFRS accounting standards either through previous preparation or experience in audit

  • Experience working with finance software (e.g. Nav or D365) and or data analytic software (e.g. Qlik)
