Job Description


Key Accountabilities Financial services

  • Day to day processing of accounts payable and accounts receivables transactions with the highest level of accuracy to include weekly supplier payment and supplier reconciliations.
  • Prompt resolution of customer and internal enquiries and ensuring business information is recorded on our customer relationship management database.
  • Work with the HR Business Partner to ensure payroll and pensions payments are accurate and timely.
  • Ensure our CIC status and transactions are actioned and compliant with regulations.
Financial control, systems, and technology
  • Oversee financial systems and work with the Director of Information Services to ensure that they are efficient, robust, and compliant in terms of security and data protection.
  • Identify enhancements to systems and train staff as required.
Cash flow management
  • Ensure that cash flow is effectively managed to maintain necessary working capital needs and optimise return on cash reserves in line with the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s treasury policy.
  • Provide regular reports on cash flow and recommend action plans where necessary.
  • Ensure procurement policies and processes are in place to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Financial compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all UK financial regulations and standards including VAT and file VAT returns.
  • Lead on the preparation and production of end of year report and annual financial report.
  • Support the auditing team during the auditing process as required.
  • File the end of year accounts and report with Companies House.
  • Identify and implement financial improvements to support the auditing process.
Budget management, financial reporting, and analysis
  • Work with the Director of Operations to create our annual budget providing analysis and insights.
  • Create monthly management accounts including balance sheets and cash flow statements ensuring accurate and timely production of results.
  • Provide appropriately detailed reports including a commentary for different audiences.
Stakeholder and team collaboration
  • Work with external stakeholders including contract partners, auditors and financial institutions as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial literacy and understanding.
  • Work with internal teams to gather financial data and customer information and the development of new projects as required.
Person Specification Essential
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
  • Experience of managing and actioning financial operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK accounting standards including VAT.
  • Experience of preparing monthly management accounts
  • Demonstrable experience of managing the year end process from start to completion.
  • Proven experience of managing the external audit process.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and refining financial processes
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Office and in particular advanced Excel skills in order to manipulate and interrogate data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of developing good working relationships at all levels of the organisation providing both challenge and support as required.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and adept at both managing and prioritising tasks utilising strong planning and organisational skills.
Desirable
  • Experience of using Xero, ApprovalMax and/or SDWorx.
  • Experience of working in a commercial environment in sales and / or a product design context.
  • Experience of working for a membership\xe2\x80\xaforganisation.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the English education system.

Salary for a full-time role will range between \xc2\xa340,000 - \xc2\xa345,000 depending on experience.
