We are seeking a skilled Fire Stopper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring fire safety by installing and maintaining fire stopping systems in various construction settings. This role requires a strong understanding of building materials and methods, as well as the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment. The Fire Stopper will play a critical role in protecting structures from fire hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
Install and maintain fire stopping systems in walls, floors, and ceilings to prevent the spread of fire.
Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete installations.
Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and electricians, to ensure proper integration of fire stopping measures.
Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Fabricate necessary components for fire stopping applications as required.
Perform masonry work as needed for installation purposes.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Follow all health and safety guidelines while on site.
Requirements
Proven experience in masonry, roofing, or related construction fields is preferred.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is essential.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems and painting techniques is advantageous.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks, including lifting heavy materials when necessary.
A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
