Job Description


We are looking for a Football Development Coordinator to coordinate Arsenal in the Community\'s Football Plus programme, which champions a positive first (and continued) experience of football and sport for all. This role is also responsible for delivering high-quality PE, extra-curricular activity and football competitions within primary schools.

Your day-to-day

  • Effectively coordinate the delivery of AITC Football Plus Programme to support Arsenal in the Community and club priorities.
  • Recruiting participants and monitoring attendance for Football Plus programme.
  • Leading and delivering Football Plus training sessions, matchdays and events.
  • Organising appropriate workshops for participants on Football Plus on a range of topics (i.e. mental health, healthy lifestyles etc).
  • Delivery of Football Plus mini leagues and Primary football competitions/events.
  • Regular delivery of PE lessons, targeted interventions and extra-curricular activity within primary schools.
  • Supporting the delivery of coach education sessions as part of the Arsenal Community Coach Development Programme.
  • Leading the delivery of Arsenal in the Community Holiday activity/soccer schools.
  • Ensuring compliance to Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies ensuring all activities are delivered in line with required regulatory and statutory procedures and that all documentation is accurate and up to date.
What we are looking for
  • UEFA C Coaching Qualification (Required).
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (Desirable).
  • UEFA B Coaching Qualification (Desirable).
  • Full UK Driving License (Desirable).
  • Valid, up to date certifications in First Aid and Safeguarding Children.
  • This role requires a clear enhanced DBS check.
  • Previous line management experience or experience in a mentoring role.
  • Previous experience of working in community football development and primary school environments.
  • Experience of working within an inner-city environment and familiar with handling the type of challenges which may be presented.
  • Strong knowledge of coaching football to a variety of age groups.
  • Sound knowledge of the role of sport in primary education and the requirements of the national curriculum for PE.
  • An understanding of and a demonstrable commitment to promoting principles of Equalities, Diversity, and Inclusion both in the workplace and in the wider community.
  • Commitment to promoting the principles of best practice relating to Safeguarding and Health & Safety.
