Job Description

The Sussex County Football Association Limited is looking to recruit a dedicated Football Services Administrator on a part-time, permanent contract. This role will support the operations of the Football Services Department and contribute to the successful delivery of the Grassroots Football Strategy.



Sussex County FA is the not-for-profit governing body of football in Sussex, proudly serving over 500 clubs and 50,000 players across the county. From grassroots to the professional game, we work to ensure football in Sussex is safe, fun, and accessible, while upholding the highest standards of governance and development.

In recent months, we've launched new digital systems to streamline referee availability, secured Football Foundation funding for grassroots facility upgrades, and hosted inclusive events such as the Sussex Walking Sports Day and Disability Day Centre Festivals. This role involves providing comprehensive administrative support to the Football Services Team, including responsibilities related to County Cups, player registration queries, County FA affiliation, and finance support where required. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality service to all stakeholders and in supporting the implementation of the Sussex County FA Strategy 2024-2028. A particular focus of the role will be to take an active role in supporting delivery of the Tackle Poor Behaviour priority within the strategy. A detailed role profile is outlined below.

To join the team and be successful, the individual must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role on offer and how their expertise and any experience will enable them to meet the essential and desirable criteria within the role. The individual will be able to demonstrate their passion and professionalism for the role.

The successful applicant will report to the Football Services Manager and thereafter to the Chief Executive.

Applicants should have prior experience in an administrative role, as well as a background in customer service. The ideal candidate must also be flexible and able to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

The role involves working

21 hours per week

, Monday to Friday (specific days and times to be confirmed), with occasional evening and weekend work as required.

The position offers

84 hours leave per annum

and a

salary of 14,000 per annum

, subject to a

3-month probationary period
