We're seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic
Part-Time Forest School Leader
to join our team. You'll be responsible for creating enriching outdoor learning opportunities in our wonderful "Secret Garden" Forest School area.
About the Role:
This is a part-time position of 4 hours per week, consisting of 3 hours working directly with our children and 1 hour dedicated to setup and preparation. As our Forest School Leader, you'll play a vital role in developing children's confidence, resilience, and understanding of the natural world. Our pupils already have a
strong foundation of Forest School skills,
providing a wonderful base for you to build upon.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Engaging Outdoor Learning:
Deliver dynamic and challenging learning activities, selecting and preparing resources to ignite curiosity and foster skill development.
Ensure Safety and Well-being:
Assess pupils' needs to ensure safe and correct use of tools and exploration of the outdoor environment.
Manage the Learning Environment:
Manage the "Secret Garden" Forest School area, ensuring a positive and productive learning space.
Plan and Deliver Objectives:
Plan challenging learning objectives and deliver out-of-school activities that reinforce classroom learning.
Resource and Equipment Management:
Advise on the deployment of specialist equipment and ensure resources are readily available.
Support and Develop Others:
Lead, advise, and support Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) during Forest School activities, acting as a specialist in your area of expertise.
Maintain Compliance:
Stay abreast of school, national, and statutory policies linked to Forest School accreditation and apply these requirements diligently.
Independent Practice:
Work unsupervised, implementing lesson plans, managing pupil behaviour, and making judgments about pupil progress and needs.
What You'll Bring:
Forest School Accreditation:
Hold a recognised Forest School Accreditation.
Level 2 HLTA Qualification:
Possess a Level 2 HLTA qualification, demonstrating your training and expertise in supporting and developing staff.
Passion for Nature:
A genuine love for the outdoors and a strong belief in its power to positively impact children's development.
Independent and Proactive:
Ability to work autonomously, manage your time effectively, and take initiative.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 32,149.00-35,241.00 per year
