Jacksons is looking for a framing technician to join our team on a temporary contract. This role will involve making an packing frames and cutting backing board glazing etc. The ideal candidate will have experience making frames and an eye for detail and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Frame Construction

: Construct custom frames for artwork, using wood, metal, or other materials as required.

Cutting and Fitting

: Accurately cut mat board, glass, and frame moulding to fit specific dimensions.

Assembly

: Assemble the finished frame, including fitting glass, backboards, and fastenings.

Quality Control

: Inspect completed items for defects, ensuring they meet company standards for quality and appearance.

Inventory Management

: Maintain stock levels of canvases and stretcher bars.

Maintenance of Equipment

: Ensure that all tools and machinery (e.g., frame saws, canvas stretchers) are properly maintained and in good working condition.

Packaging & Shipping

: Carefully pack completed orders for delivery or pick-up, ensuring protection from damage during transit.

Requirements

:

Experience

: Previous experience in framing and/or a related field preferred.

Technical Skills

: Knowledge of various framing techniques and materials, as well as experience with hand tools and power tools.

Attention to Detail

: Strong attention to detail and precision

Physical Stamina

: Ability to lift, carry, and move large pieces materials, as well as perform repetitive tasks.

Problem-Solving

: Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues related to material imperfections.

Organizational Skills

: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

:

Ability to stand for long periods. Frequent lifting and carrying of heavy materials (up to 20kg). Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for cutting and assembling.

Pay: 12.21-14.00 per hour
