experienced, freelance CITB Site Safety Plus (SSP) Tutors
and
Construction Health & Safety Trainers
to deliver
online and face-to-face training and assessment services
across the UK construction industry.
In this role, you will help individuals and organisations meet industry training standards, achieve recognised qualifications, and raise competence and compliance within construction health and safety.
This is a
flexible role
with some national travel, ideally suited to professionals with strong industry experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing skills in others.
Key Responsibilities For CITB Site Safety Plus (SSP) Tutors
Deliver the full SSP course suite online, including:
Health & Safety Awareness (HSA)
Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
SSSTS and SMSTS refresher courses
Maintain course delivery in line with
CITB scheme rules
and
learning outcomes
Deliver engaging, high-quality sessions via
Zoom
or
Microsoft Teams
Manage learner attendance, feedback, and documentation in accordance with CITB requirements
Provide a safe, inclusive, and professional virtual learning environment
Deliver face-to-face training where required
Minimum Requirements:
One of the following qualifications:
NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety
NVQ/SVQ Level 5 (or higher) in Occupational Health & Safety
Health & Safety-related degree
NEBOSH Diploma (Part 2 or Units A, B, C, and D)
Level 6 Diploma in Safety Management
A recognised
training qualification
(e.g., Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET), PTLLS, or CITB exemption)
Current SMSTS certification (for new tutors), or CPD evidence for renewing trainers
Proven experience in delivering relevant courses to industry standards
For Core Construction Trainers
Deliver training across multiple construction health & safety disciplines
Engage with learners of all levels and backgrounds, both on-site and online
Travel nationally to support learners and organisations
Work collaboratively with the training team to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
Essential Requirements:
A recognised
teaching qualification
, such as:
PTLLS
Level 3 Award in Education & Training (AET)
Equivalent recognised award
Experience in delivering training in areas such as:
Abrasive wheels
Hand-held disc cutter
Cat & Genny
CDM (awareness, principal designer, principal contractor)
Confined spaces
Face fit testing
Fire marshal
Vehicle marshal
Working at height
Temporary works
Asbestos awareness (IATP)
Building Safety Act
or any other courses
