Job Specification - Front of House Server

Location: Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, YO7

Contract: Full-time, permanent - Salary: 27,000 - 28,000 per year (plus tips, pro rata)

Contract: Part-time, permanent - Salary: 13,500 - 14,000 per year (plus tips, pro rata)

Hours: Daytime hours only - no evening work

About the Role

We're looking for an energetic and friendly Front of House Server to join our cafe team at Sutton Bank. You'll be the face of our hospitality, delivering outstanding service to every guest and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service, ensuring every guest feels valued. Take orders, serve food and drinks, and manage table service where required. Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the cafe floor. Support in stock rotation, restocking displays, and ensuring smooth service. Handle payments accurately and efficiently. Upsell menu items and communicate daily specials to guests. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless food service. Act as an ambassador for our brand values and North York Moors setting.

About You

Previous hospitality or customer-facing experience desirable. Passionate about delivering great service and making guests feel welcome. Positive, reliable, and a strong team player. Comfortable working in a busy cafe environment. Flexible, proactive, and happy to support colleagues where needed.
