What you'd be doing in this role



Your role will be to support the expansion of the iFaciliity products by building on our continued development to maintain, support, improve and add new features to our existing in-house and external facing web applications, such as myManage, myFacility and iSecure Web. Build and test Application Program Interfaces (APIs) for applications to exchange data. Run performance benchmarking tests, build and maintain databases, carry out code refactoring and optimisation of existing code. Provide internal and customer-facing software related support, including troubleshooting and bug fixing based off internal and external feedback Create support and how-to documentation, in addition to code-level documentation for other team members, to assist end-users in configuring and/or using our software platforms and services. Analyse web traffic and APM stack traces to fix faults and fine-tune performance at the application and database layers Participation in in-house or external training activities including certification and H&S training as required. o Any other duties required to carry out the role of Web Developer

For this role, you'll need to experience in the following qualifications



5+ years experience in web development using PHP, HTML CSS/SASS 5+ years experience in MySQL database architecture, implementation, maintenance 3+ years experience with MVC style frameworks such as Laravel or Codeigniter 3+ years experience with Nginx or Apache Basic working knowledge of Linux distros such as Debian or Ubuntu

What you'll be like as a person



Demonstrate attention to detail and analytical thinking, problem solving, good communication and time management. Demonstrate an ability to manage a complex range of tasks and meet deadlines and work well independently as well as in mixed teams Technical knowledge in areas such as client-side components, server-side languages, web application frameworks and database management systems. Experience with version control systems, and a thorough understanding of the architecture of web applications and web security and encryption Web servers: Nginx, Apache Languages: PHP, Javascript, jQuery, Node, CSS/SASS Frameworks: Laravel, Codeigniter, Bootstrap 4+, React Native (bonus) Databases: MySQL, Redis, Memcache Tools/Package Management: Git, Node/NPM, Yarn, Gulp

Additional Knowledge would be an advantage:



A good working knowledge of server infrastructure and web server engines like nginx or apache, and how to tune linux for high-traffic throughput Experience with load balancing systems like nginx or HAProxy Experience with database clustering/replication such as MySQL group replication or Galera for MySQL
