The role of Installation Technician is to support clients and our field-based employees with product installations, repairs, audits, training and other technical duties. The role requires significant traveling to customer homes and office buildings to build equipment or troubleshoot or fix existing problems with existing products.
This role would suit an enthusiastic individual who is comfortable with extended driving in London and surrounding area, with multiple set ups or appointments per day.
A successful Installation Technician should have sound mechanical and product knowledge (which we will teach you) and be able to work in small office spaces and drive in a van for extended periods of time. You must have exceptional communication skills, a passion for customer service and quick problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the safe delivery and assembly of products
Carry out onsite product repairs specifically within seating and electric desking
To ensure that all installations and repairs are carried out to Posturite standards and customers satisfaction
Oversee the installation of bulk seating orders
Conduct Posturite seating audits for specific companies
Communicate regularly with the Office, Field and Management teams, building excellent internal relationships
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with key suppliers including RH and HAG
Ensure diary is managed effectively at all times, keeping it up to date at all times
Frequently check and respond to all mediums of communication including voicemail, email and calendar entries, making prompt changes to meet client needs at short notice.
Accurately complete all relevant paperwork and forms, within the agreed timescales on relevant IT systems
Responsible for ensuring the company van is kept clean, presentable, and in good working condition through regular maintenance checks
Support the Marketing Team with the delivery and collection of exhibition equipment
Provide timed deliveries for specific clients during out of office hours where required
Mentor new members of staff in line with the company induction program
Deliver training to field staff and clients as and when required
Identify and pass on sales opportunities to the appropriate member of field staff
Promote Posturite in a positive light at all times
What you will bring
You will be a fully competent driver with a clean driving licence
Good communication skills and ability to represent Posturite in a positive, professional and friendly manner
You will be numerate, articulate and have good attention to detail
A flexible approach to your working hours
A safety-first approach and compliance with current H&S legislation and Company specific health, safety and environmental policies and procedures is essential
Able to carry out practical maintenance and installation tasks to a high standard
Skills and Experience
Valid UK driving license (essential) and preferably clean
Must have previous experience of a driving role and be confident driving in London and surrounding areas with multiple appointments per day
Previous experience in installation, logistics, or technical fieldwork is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, use own initiative and under pressure in dynamic environments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to use IT systems confidently
A reliable team player with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to change of planned activities at short notice
Ability to crouch, kneel and work in confined areas for extended periods
Ability to lift heavy objects with appropriate lifting techniques
Good organisation & time management skills
Understand and logically follow diagrams and manuals
Hours (Monday - Friday 9am -5pm)
