Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of our outdoor spaces. This role involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall upkeep of gardens, lawns, and landscaped areas, ensuring they remain healthy and visually appealing.

Duties

Perform landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. Irrigate plants and lawns effectively to promote healthy growth. Operate power tools such as lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently. Utilise hand tools for various gardening tasks, including planting, weeding, and pruning. Assist in the growing of plants by preparing soil, planting seeds or seedlings, and applying fertilisers as needed. Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs or potential issues. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools and equipment after use. Collaborate with team members to complete larger landscaping projects as required.

Requirements

Proven experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential. Familiarity with irrigation systems and techniques is advantageous. Ability to operate various power tools safely and effectively. Strong knowledge of gardening practices, including plant care and pest management. Excellent attention to detail with a passion for maintaining outdoor spaces. Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions. A valid driving licence may be required for transportation between sites.
