The role of the maintenance Technician is to complete Planned Preventative Maintenance checks and inspections on the buildings, facilities and equipment. You will be responsible for reporting all defects back to the Production Director who is the site focal point.

You will also be responsible for the upkeep of the buildings this may include painting, moving or replacing walls or basic wiring and other infrastructure repairs that are within your ability as delegated by management. As well as this, there may be regular driving roles to the IOW ferry ports or local suppliers to collect personnel, material or items in the company vehicle. You will be responsible for the completion of projects and tasks that are given to you by the Production Director within a timely manner and report any issues found. You will also perform daily and weekly checks on tooling, machines and health and safety facilities around site to ensure the production facility can operate as efficiently as possible.###

Key Responsibilities



Planned Preventative Maintenance

To ensure that all legislative inspections and testing are carried out in a timely manner, all defects or faults are reported back to Line Manager so they can be actioned in a timely manner. Daily and weekly checks on machines, tools and facilities on site to ensure the production facility is as safe and efficient as possible. Facility checks such as water temperature, legionella's testing, asbestos and lighting reviews Conducting inspection and booking repairs to company machinery such as vehicles, fork lifts and MEWPs. To assist the Production Team as required with day-to-day activities such as gathering material, tidying workstations and movement of items around the site.

Reporting


Using the online systems in place to report hazards, incidents or defects to the appropriate person within a timely manner. Use and update the maintenance operating system to track required works or PPMs on machinery & tooling.

Driving

To complete the driving tasks as requested in adherence to UK driving laws (must have valid UK driving license). Deliver and collect parts and personnel from various locations as required.

Safety

To hold or be willing to hold first aid and fire marshal positions in the future. To monitor health and safety facilities on site such as first aid stations and fire escapes to comply with legislation in the production facility. To use PPE in the manner instructed, and to ensure it is looked after and stored correctly, understanding the life of the individual PPE and not to exceed this. To complete any work in line with legislation and best practice as defined in guidance documents and working procedures.

Adhoc

Taking meter readings monthly and entering the data onto the system. Assembled office furniture, assisting in office moves. Assisting with aircraft movements Undertaking repairs to the door access system Cleaning the company vehicles periodically Any other task that is requested within the scope of the job role.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





Previous experience in a similar maintenance/facilities role. Strong knowledge of general repairs and maintenance across various trades. Excellent interpersonal skills & customer service skills both internally & externally. Ability to find and resolve issues Strong work ethic with a proactive attention to tasks needed to be actioned around them. Full UK driving licence required Ability to achieve a UK security clearance
