The Role



We are seeking an

experienced and inspiring General Manager

to lead a team of 24+ dedicated professionals and oversee all aspects of daily operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about hospitality, committed to excellence, and driven to mentor and develop others.

You'll not only manage the business but also nurture talent, guide apprentices, and foster a culture where careers flourish. If you believe pubs can change lives and communities, we want you on our team.

This position does not include live-in accommodation.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Development:

Motivate and mentor your team, champion apprenticeships, and create a positive, growth-focused environment.

Operational Excellence:

Oversee staffing, inventory, compliance, and financial performance.

Guest Experience:

Deliver exceptional service and ensure every guest leaves with a smile.

Community Engagement:

Build strong local relationships and represent The Norway Inn at community events.

Marketing & Promotion:

Collaborate on social media campaigns, events, and partnerships.

Financial Management:

Monitor weekly P&Ls, roats, control costs, and maximise revenue.

Quality & Standards:

Maintain top-tier cleanliness, safety, and sustainability practices.

Technology:

Confident in till programming, reporting and cloud systems.

What We're Looking For



Proven experience in pub or hospitality management. Strong leadership and communication skills. Passion for customer service and community engagement. Ability to work flexibly (evenings, weekends, holidays).

Personal Licence Holder

(or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of cellar management, food safety (Level 3 preferred), and allergen awareness. Financial acumen and tech-savvy approach to operational efficiency. Commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
