Job Summary



We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Workshop Operative to support the assembly and manufacture of mechanical systems, uPVC pipework, and pump systems used in water treatment and analysing systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality production standards, precision assembly, and adherence to safety and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Assemble mechanical systems and components in accordance with technical drawings and specifications.- Manufacture, cut, prepare, and install uPVC pipework and associated fittings for water treatment and analytical systems.- Build and test pump systems and flow control assemblies.- Conduct basic quality inspections to ensure products meet required standards and tolerances.- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions accurately.- Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and efficiently.- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.- Assist with fault finding, basic troubleshooting, and rework where necessary.- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.- Comply with all health & safety regulations and company procedures.

Required Skills & Experience

- High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.- Previous experience in a workshop, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly environment.- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.- Good manual dexterity and ability to work with precision tools.- Understanding of basic mechanical principles and assembly techniques.- Strong organisational and time management skills.- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Technical and practical skills



Experience using a variety of hand and power tools.

The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers is vital.

The ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.
