A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team at the Golf House Club in Elie. The historic village of Elie, birthplace of James Braid, is situated in the East Neuk of Fife, a short distance from the home of golf - St. Andrews. You will work alongside our existing team providing first-tee starting, meet and greet and on course duties on the prestigious top 100 UK ranked Elie Links 18-hole course as part of a seasonal part time role.
This is the opportunity for the right candidate to work in an environment different from the norm, helping to enhance the member and visitor experience with the stunning backdrop of the seaside location.
Key Responsibilities
Working in the Starter's Office key day-to-day duties will include:
Checking in golfers to the 18-hole Elie Links course.
Tee booking management via our computer booking platform.
Retailing and maintaining Starter's Office stock.
Allocating trolleys, hire equipment, and golf buggies to golfers.
Managing the first tee starting on our 18-hole course.
Working alongside the golf operations team, you will also be responsible for meet & greet & Course Rangers Duties:
Welcoming and inducting members' guests and visitors as they arrive at the facility
Inducting players on the history and navigation of the course
Starting players off the first tee
Managing speed of play on the course
Assisting with competition management and scoring.
Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will have the following experience / skills:
Highly self-motivated and able to learn new skills quickly.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to deal with the high demands during the very busy holiday periods at the club.
Previous experience in the golf industry would be advantageous but not essential.
