As a part time Green Skills Tutor for the CONNECT programme, you will support and deliver sessions that give learners aged 16+ the skills, knowledge and confidence to explore careers in the green economy.

Based at Groundwork offices in Trafford Park or Ashton-under-Lyne and/or community base within Greater Manchester.

Overview of the post
The postholder will be a member of the Skills & Justice team and will be working closely with the Green Skills Manager.
The post holder will play a key role in supporting the design and delivery of Green Skills training sessions. These sessions will focus on equipping learners aged 16+ with awareness of pathways to jobs in the green economy and provide them with the ability to increase confidence, engage with others and connect with the outdoors. Training will take place across a variety of settings, including classrooms, community settings and outdoor environments, ensuring accessibility and relevance for a diverse range of learners.
Delivery
Delivering a portfolio of green skills related training products for different groups of learners
Achievement of a range of KPI targets including the number of young people recruited and their retention on the programme; complete all necessary enrolment, monitoring, assessment, action planning and review processes as required by project funders and awarding bodies
Effectively plan and resource provision on green skills programmes with well-maintained tools and equipment, ensuring delivery of applicable tool talks, supervising safe practice, maintenance and correct storage
Business & / or Service Development
Supports development of Groundwork Green Skills Academy, with new training courses, both accredited and non-accredited, relating to green skills and the green economy
Develops and maintains relationships at project level e.g. community organisations, referral partners and employers
Identifies opportunities to enhance learner experience.
Uses internal and external data relating to teaching, development of young people and employment progression in specialist field, and shares learning within team to inform service development and practice
Financial Management
& Income Generation
Responsible for travel, refreshments and activity resources
Plans for effective use of resources within projects and / or service delivery
Maximise draw down on relevant programme funding contracts whilst keeping expenditure within agreed limits
Looks for cost savings and / or funding opportunities to support project sustainability plans and / or business development plans and / or internal or external service improvement plans; shares ideas with managers and team
People Management & Development
Supervision of volunteers or trainees
Shares specialist skills and knowledge with others
Embeds culture and values through own behaviours and providing supportive challenge to others
Internal Management
Embeds policy and procedure within areas of responsibility
Supports delivery of business improvement priority plans with focus on continuous improvement relating to teaching and CIAG
Supports organisational needs/development as required
